Pictured below are some birds that made 2009' yet another successfull season of racing for Kuhn Family Loft.  We strive to be the best, and let our birds do the talking for us (we currently only race old birds and the season has come to an end). Pictured below are some of our 09' old bird race winners that were flown on the natural system with alot of open loft. We have proven again that color doesn't matter on race day, and have numerous other diploma winners as well this last year that aren't pictured. Due to AU rules, there again wasn't any average speed award due to lack of participation in all the scheduled races (fell short of participating lofts in one race). If there had been an average speed award, Kuhn Family Loft which consist of my son Bryce, daughter Siri, and myself, would have easily won 1st Average speed again making us the most consistent racing loft in old birds since joining the GSR club in 03'. Unfortunately though, we were the only loft in the GSR club to compete in all the old bird races this year once again. Please feel free to call or email with any questions. All race results may be found on our club's website at www.gsrracingpigeons.com We also participated in racing a double schedule like we did back in 07' old birds by flying with the Heartland Federation. Competition can only make you better is our thoughts, and we don't shy away from a challenge!!! We wish to extend our best wishes to everyone for this upcoming year, and hope that they will spread the word about this great hobby to others. The future of pigeon racing/pigeon fancy depends on it!!!

Pictured above is one of my many presentations that I did this year about racing pigeons, and the pigeon fancy as a whole. This particular presentation was at my childrens school (Chatfield Elemantary) for my daughter's 2nd grade class. My son (Bryce) & daughter (Siri) discussed with the students about taking care of the birds, racing, ect with the students. Following our presentation, the class wrote some messages and we tossed out six birds. I have been doing presentations now at elementary schools, Autoban Society, and 4-H groups for about 4 years now. I'd like to urge any fanciers who have the opportunity to do public speaking about this great hobby, to take advantage of it. Kids as well as adults genuinely are intrigued by the birds and it helps dispell alot of negative publicity that our sport/hobby gets. Who knows, you may even pick up some new members.
